Chic & Simple Rose Centerpiece

To make this beautiful and very simple centerpiece you will need the following: 2 dozen short stem roses of any color, floral tape, 1 bottle of clear Aqua Gems (can be found at AC Moore), a tall cylinder vase, and shears.

Make sure to remove all of the leaves from the stems and snap off any remaining thorns.

Next fill the vase with the aqua gems. Make sure to only fill it 2/3 of the way (although the photo has it  filled to the top). These beads are reusable and need to remain hydrated otherwise they will shrink and will not retain water. Make sure these don't go down any drains. The more water you put in the vase the less you will see the beads.

Next you will start making a spiral bouquet to give the roses the rounded look.

This may take you a few times to get the technique right but once you do, you will be able to make perfectly rounded bouquets every time. To help explain how to spiral -watch this video I found on YouTube: spiral technique

Once spiraled, I taped the stems to hold them in place while I cut the stems to fit the vase.

Remove the tape and make sure to hold the roses tightly to keep the shape when placing them in the vase. The aqua gems act as a holding device and will hold the flowers together.

Enjoy!
